The settlement dates back to the Bronze Age, while the copper mines of Ancient Sparta were also located in the area - remnants of which can still be found today, at the "Petaraika" site.

During the Greek Revolution, the village was destroyed twice by Ibrahim's soldiers, as were other villages in the area. The settlement was recognized by the Greek state in 1835, it belongs to the so-called Bardounochoria of Laconia and is built at an altitude of 322 meters.

The Panagakos family has been involved in the production of olive oil since it arrived in the region. Alexandros Panagakos, an agronomist from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, has taken care of the cultivation and care of the trees and is the third generation of the family to be involved in olive oil production.

The altitude of the area, the cultivation conditions and the varieties of olive trees are some of the characteristics that contribute to the unique taste and quality of olive oil.

Our varieties are Myrtolia, Athinolia and Koroneiki. The production process of olive oil is carried out by the method of cold pressing with modern machinery. Our parcels are cultivated with environmentally friendly methods and are in the process of conversion to organic farming.
